It's drawing a slightly long bow to class an immunological thesis as ecological, but what the hey...please note that the disturbing trend to asepsis in modern, particularly urban households is only ONE of the contributing factors to the increasing medical woes. But it's an important one.

Children need to get dirty, within reason, just like they need to risk their necks, within reason.
